Reflection: Kay Vinay

The buildings here are being continually worked on and added to which so depicts the orphanage and its inhabitants.  The add-ons to the building differ from the original building in depth, height, and width, but they are built with love and care and fit together to serve their purpose. Just as each addition to the number of children is different from the rest, they fit together into this family and cared for with the love that only a family of God can give. Unlike most sibling relationships, when an older orphan speaks, the younger take heed.  As we sit and watch the interactions of the children, the camaraderie and the respect are obvious, even for those who are around the same age.

An hour spent in the girls’ dorm was quite enjoyable as they wanted to share their love of singing and worship with us.  Their songs of praise were sung in perfect harmony and the only instruments were the beautiful voices. All the children are anxious to join in with what we are doing. All I needed to do was show up with a large garbage bag and start cleaning up some trash throughout the grounds, and soon there were 4 boys who took the bag from me and began to help.  Of course, they wanted a reward of some kind - and they earned it.  If you ever want to experience the joy of the Lord in your heart, all you need do is hold these children on your lap and in your arms.  For sure, you will hold them in your heart forever.
